Get ready for FIELD DAY, sponsored by Queens Pharmacy, on Tuesday, June 4th!

School Events

Throughout the year, the SGE PTA hosts a wide variety of special school events for our students, staff and community to enjoy. These events are a great way to celebrate our school and help build camaraderie outside of the classroom.  A few of our favorite events are listed below.  Please be sure to see our PTA Calendar to view all our SGE PTA-sponsored events held during the year.

Our Fall Carnival is traditionally held on the SGE bus loop in the month of October and kicks off our INVEST fundraising campaign. This event features carnival attractions like bounce houses, obstacle courses, games, face painting, music, a dunk booth, food trucks and raffle tickets. We love this event because it is a great way to kick off the new academic year and get a head start on our SGE PTA fundraising goals.

This is a school-wide dance to celebrate friendship held on a Friday evening in February.  Scholars must be accompanied by a parent/guardian of their choosing. The event traditionally has a DJ, food and dessert, a photography booth, a silent auction and a quiet craft room. There is a ticket charge for this event.

The Shamrock Shuffle is the annual neighborhood 5k race that takes place traditionally in March. Walkers are welcome! This event has been a part of the SGE community for 11 years. Come enjoy the fun, food trucks, music and more!

An opportunity for our students and community to get together and view our local sports teams in action. Past events have included games at the Charlotte Checkers and the Charlotte Hornets. This year we hope to add Charlotte FC to the mix! Tickets for the sporting events are typically provided to SGE at a discounted rate. A portion of ticket sales goes back to the SGE PTA.

An opportunity for our students and community to socialize while supporting our local vendors. A portion of restaurant sales during the spirit night events goes back to the SGE PTA.

Field Day is traditionally during a school day in early June. It is a school-wide celebration of the end of another successful school year, with a variety of outdoor activities and games for the scholars.
