"Invest in Your School" is the Shamrock Gardens Elementary PTA’s year-round fundraising effort.

 

By joining in this campaign with your monetary donations OR your volunteer hours, you can help SGE continue to be a positive and engaging learning environment for our scholars. 

Along with fundraising efforts like The Shamrock Shuffle and small rewards programs like Amazon Smile and the Harris Teeter Together in Education Program, your participation in Invest in Your School supports the school's efforts to ensure that every scholar is known, loved and nurtured.

 

No donation of time or money is too small. Every cent and every volunteered minute will enrich our scholars and staff.

While many public schools have faced major cuts to critical programs and services, SGE is in a position to keep fundamental and valuable programs that are part of our school's culture.

But only with your help.

How are donations spent? Here are some examples:

  • $20  pays for one library-bound book for mindful media.

  • $50  pays for one class chess lesson.

  • $200  pays for multiple jump ropes for recess.

  • $650  pays for an entire staff appreciation meal.

Our 2021 Goals:

  1. Raise $10,000 for community needs, including curriculum, classroom and staff/teacher support, family engagement events and more.
     

  2. Register 430 volunteers (one for every scholar at SGE), so that when Covid restrictions are lifted, the community will be ready!

How can you help?

Volunteer & Community Giving Opportunities:

 

  • Join the SGE PTA! It takes a village! If you are interested in volunteering in a big or small way, the SGE PTA is a great place to start. To join, there is an associated donation of $5 (a majority of which goes to the National PTA organization). 
     

  • Volunteer:

    • Register to become a volunteer at cmsvolunteers.com.

    • Contact SGE PTA board via Facebook or yourshamrockpta@gmail.com for volunteer opportunities or to share your ideas!

    • Reach out to staff or teachers to find needs within school.
       

  • Amazon Smile: Register under "PTA North Carolina Congress Shamrock Garden Elem School PTA," and a percentage of your purchases go towards the school.

  • Harris Teeter Together in Education: Link to SGE (code 3961) and begin earning money for the school.

  • Boxtops for Education: Download the app and log your receipts to collect.

Monetary Donations:

  • For monetary donations via Zelle (the preferred method) or PayPal (fees associated), click the donate button at the top of this his page!

  • Download and fill out a donation form and drop the completed form and payment in the PTA box by front office. Mail the completed form and check to: SGE PTA – 1900 Newcastle Street, Charlotte, NC 28216. Make checks payable to: Shamrock Gardens Elementary PTA.
     

  • Donations are tax deductible! (NC PTA Group Exemption Number (GEM) 8535, EIN#: 56-1684429)
     

  • All donations are kept confidential.

Don’t forget! Check with your employer to see if they offer corporate matching gifts to increase your donation amount. Employer matches are common, and they make a difference!
