SUBJECT: SGE PTA News for October: INVEST update

INVEST in your school!

We are halfway to our GOAL of $18,000...and to Principal Potter kissing a pig! If you haven’t donated, please consider doing so. Without your generosity, we would not be able to fund school events like the Fall Carnival or programs like field trips and staff/teacher appreciation meals.

Our goal is 100% participation from families. By joining in this campaign with your monetary donation, you can help SGE continue to be a positive and engaging learning environment for our scholars.

FALL CARNIVAL
Thank you to everyone who made the Fall Carnival a success! A special shout out to our SGE staff/teachers and family volunteers. We hope everyone had fun and enjoyed spending time with this community.

Boo!Grams

The fifth grade scholars will be selling Boo!Grams in the lobby before school (7:30-8:00am) each day from October 23rd to 27th. They're only $1 each! Scholars can buy a friendly ghost lollipop for a friend, a favorite teacher, or themselves. All grams will be delivered on October 31st.

Families can also sponsor an entire classroom for only $25. Contact Rachel Frazier to find out more. All proceeds will go towards covering costs of the fifth grade field trip this year.

Current volunteer needs

We need you! There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and support Shamrock. Remember to register at cmsvolunteers.com so you're set for the school year! Click the button below or check out the ICYMI section at the end of this newsletter to learn about ongoing opportunities.

CLUB FRIDAYS
Thanks to all our Club Friday volunteers so far! Clubs will be ramping up soon: Kindergarten Clubs will begin on October 20th, and Grades 1-5 Clubs will begin on November 3rd. We only need a few more volunteers:

  • Grades 1-2: Coloring, Drawing, Stencils; or any new idea! Support available.
  • Grades 1-2: Board Games & Puzzles
  • Grades 1-2: Legos
  • All grades: Support volunteers still needed!

Clubs will generally run the first and third Friday of each month. Kindergarten will be 1:45-2:30pm, Grades 1-2 will be 8:30-9:20am, and Grades 3-5 will be 9:30-10:20am. You don't have to be an expert, just an enthusiastic and cheerful helper who enjoys working with our scholars (and who is a registered CMS volunteer). Email Melissa Chambers by October 15th to sign up.

Featured events

ICYMI

(in case you missed it)

  • Remember to sign up for Membership Toolkit to receive access to the private (optional) School Directory, the full school year PTA Events Calendar, and more. Visit shamrockpta.org and click LOGIN in the upper right corner to register for free.
  • Are you confused about all the acronyms? LI/TD, PTA, CoGAT, MAP, etc.? You're not the only one! The SGE PTA website includes a glossary that will help demystify these terms and many others for you. (No cap...)

  • Heart Math Tutoring will be working with Shamrock scholars who are working on foundational math skills and confidence this year. If you'd like to support a scholar with only one hour per week, you can sign up to volunteer here. This program is made possible by both your financial and time contributions to the SGE PTA!
  • Registered CMS volunteers can help with morning carpool either by simply showing up Wednesday mornings 7:30-8:00am for Lucky's Pals Carpool, or by signing up for Lucky Dads, which occurs one Friday of each month.

  • Registered CMS volunteers can now have lunch with their scholars in the cafeteria. Make sure you know your scholar's lunchtime, and sign in at the front office. If you want to buy lunch, you can use the balance on your scholar's PayPAM account or bring cash.

Thank you to our title sponsors!
