Staff Appreciation Week – May 4–8 🍭✨

Help Us Make the Magic!

Our World of Pure Imagination celebration is bubbling, fizzing, and almost ready to delight—and we need a few more Oompa Loompas (ahem… volunteers!) to sprinkle in those final golden touches for our incredible staff!

Ways to Celebrate:

Chalk the Walk | Sunday, May 3 from 2–6 PM | Stop by the school and help transform the sidewalks into a colorful wonderland. Supplies provided—just bring your imagination.

Raffle Donations | Like the most coveted treasures in Willy Wonka’s factory, we’re collecting delightful goodies for a special staff raffle. We’re looking for donations from local vendors or businesses—anything from gift cards to sweet treats. If you’re part of a local business and would like to contribute, please reach out to Bree Jonmaire. Your contribution will help make the magic even sweeter!

Fan Mail Factory | Note cards will be sent home in Thursday folders. Return them filled with kind words, or create your own magical message.

Tokens of Appreciation | Families are welcome (but not required) to spoil our staff with small tokens of recognition throughout the week. If you’d like ideas, you can check out our “Favorite Things” list here.

Golden Ticket Volunteer Opportunities:

Decoration Helpers
Step into the workshop and help bring the magic to life—assist with errands, pick-ups, or create whimsical décor at home using provided materials and inspiration.

SVG Design & Printing
Channel your inner inventor and help bring our ideas to life by scaling designs and coordinating printing with a local print shop.

Recognition Coordinator
Help create and deliver a personalized keepsake for each staff member—thoughtful little treasures worthy of a golden ticket.

Ice Cream Runner
Zoom through the halls like Mike TeeVee and help deliver SprinkleJoy treats—colorful, chaotic, and sprinkled with fun!

Carline Support
Help keep the line moving on Monday so our teachers can enjoy a Veruca Salt–style “I want it now!” breakfast.

Want to Make the Magic Even Bigger?

For any questions, please email Bree Jonmaire.

Together, we can create a week full of wonder and imagination for our incredible staff. Thank you for helping make the magic happen!

Volunteer Opportunities

Call for 2026–2027 SGE PTA Event Co-Leads!

Love SGE events? Help bring the magic to life! We’re looking for two parent co-leads to help plan and execute some of SGE’s biggest, most memorable events for the 2026–2027 school year.

Past events have included:
🪩 School Dance (tentatively end-of-year)
🍀 Shamrock Shuffle 5K (with opportunities to reimagine and refresh!)

This is a great way to get involved, meet other families, and make a meaningful impact on our school community.

If you’re interested in a simple, consistent way to make a big impact, this is a great fit. Thank you for supporting our school community!

Final PTA Meeting of the 2025–2026 School Year

Join us Thursday, May 21 at 6:00 PM in the Outdoor Classroom at SGE for our final PTA meeting of the year! We’ll keep it brief as we review key updates, vote in the 2026–2027 PTA Board, celebrate all we’ve accomplished together, and recognize the board members rolling off this year.

And because volunteering makes our school a little sweeter, we’ll be celebrating our amazing volunteers with a cookie cake! Come celebrate, connect and close out a fantastic year with us!

Eat Lunch with your Scholar

Registered CMS volunteers can have lunch with their scholars in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Make sure you know your scholar's lunchtime, and sign in at the front office. If you want to buy lunch, you can use the balance on your scholar's PayPAM account or bring cash. Remember to say goodbye in the cafeteria and let your scholar walk to their classroom with their teacher to help keep that school-day flow going!

Does your yard feel a little bare now that the holiday decorations (and snow!) are gone? Start your spring “garden” early by planting a sign that shows your school pride!

Rent the Rock

You can also Rent the Rock any week of the year for just $20, which raises money for SGE and shows off our community's creativity and spirit.

Harris Teeter VIC

Link your VIC card to SGE (code 3961), and a portion of your Harris Teeter purchases will be donated back to Shamrock! This must be done each year. Log in to HT's Together in Education, and cross this off your list.
