2026 Shamrock Shuffle photography provided by SGE parent and photographer, Logan Cyrus—thank you!

Shamrock Shuffle Success!

Our 14th Annual Shamrock Shuffle, presented by Ken Riel, was a huge success! Thanks to our amazing community, we surpassed our goals with $86,378 in pledged profit to support important school improvements.

With 80% of scholars registered and donations from all 50 states, DC, and 7 countries, every scholar earned a Great Wolf Lodge Day Pass! (Be sure to redeem by 12/15/26 by scanning the QR code on your scholar's lanyard and reserving your visit date ahead of time!) 🎉

We also celebrated prize winners — including our Most Spirited Teacher, Ms. Kim — and had some fun taping Ms. Legra to the wall!

Check out the full recap here! Thank you for making this such a meaningful success for our school community. 💚

Capital Improvement Update

We’re excited to share that the new window screens were installed today as part of our ongoing capital improvement initiatives!

This project was made possible directly through funds raised from the Shamrock Shuffle and was approved by a vote at our most recent PTA meeting—thank you to everyone who participated and supported this effort.

We’d also like to recognize and thank Principal Legra and parent Hannah Maschoff for their thoughtful design contributions, as well as Candace Delaney for helping manage the project from start to finish.

We’re so grateful for a community that continues to show up, support our school, and help bring meaningful improvements to life for our students and staff.

Yearbooks on Sale!

Yearbook Sales + Yearbook Fund

The last day to purchase a 2025–26 SGE Yearbook has been extended to April 20th. While the school is unable to provide free yearbooks for scholars or staff, the PTA maintains a Yearbook Fund to help place yearbooks in the hands of students who may not otherwise be able to receive one.

Families can support the Yearbook Fund by gifting a yearbook. When purchasing your yearbook, you’ll have the option to donate an additional copy for a scholar in need.

While the PTA cannot guarantee that every scholar will receive a yearbook through the fund, we work closely with school leadership to distribute donated yearbooks as thoughtfully as possible.

Purchase your yearbook here.

Volunteer Opportunities

Field Day Volunteers Needed 🎉

Big thanks to our Field Day title sponsor, Podosek Construction!

Date: Thursday, April 2nd

Volunteer sign up:3rd-5th Grade & SBS - 11:50am-2:10pm

Volunteer sign up:K-2nd Grade - 8:30-11:00am

Scholars have been practicing the 3 C’s of Teamwork in PE to prepare for field day.

Cooperation, Concentration & Communication

All scholars must wear tennis shoes and socks on field day. No crocs, boots, sandals etc.  Scholars are permitted to wear athletic clothes on field day (dress down day). There are a few water games so scholars can bring a change of clothes to change into after their field day ends.  Please apply sunscreen before school and we encouraged them to bring water bottles, hats, sunglasses etc. to help keep themselves cool while outside for 2.5 hours.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Williams.

1st & 2nd Grade Parent Volunteers Needed 📁

We’re looking for 1st and 2nd grade parent volunteers to help teachers with Thursday Folders. This weekly task sends important materials home with students, and parent help makes a big difference by taking it off teachers’ plates.

It’s a simple but meaningful way to support the classroom and our school community.

You can find sign ups here.

Staff Appreciation Week – May 4–8 🍭✨ (Help Us Make the Magic!)

Our “World of Pure Imagination” celebration is coming together, and we’re looking for a few more helping hands (and golden touches!) to bring the magic to life for our amazing staff.

We have several volunteer opportunities available for those who would like to get involved behind the scenes:

  • Decoration Committee Support: Help with errands, pick-ups, or creating décor at home using provided materials and inspiration

  • SVG Design & Printing: Assist with scaling SVG files and coordinating printing with a local print shop

  • Recognition Coordinator: Help design and deliver a personalized keepsake for each staff member

Want to help make the magic even bigger? If you’d like to assist with planning or donate a treat or raffle item, please email Bree Jonmaire.

Beginner’s Day Volunteers Needed 🍎

Help us welcome our future Shamrock Gardens scholars! Beginner’s Day gives prospective kindergarteners and their families a chance to visit SGE and experience our school community.

We’re looking for volunteers to greet families and help guide activities during the event.

Dates: Thursday, April 30 at 4:40 PM and Friday, May 1 at 9:00 AM

Eat Lunch with your Scholar

Registered CMS volunteers can have lunch with their scholars in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Make sure you know your scholar's lunchtime, and sign in at the front office. If you want to buy lunch, you can use the balance on your scholar's PayPAM account or bring cash. Remember to say goodbye in the cafeteria and let your scholar walk to their classroom with their teacher to help keep that school-day flow going!

SGE Yard Signs

Does your yard feel a little bare now that the holiday decorations (and snow!) are gone? Start your spring “garden” early by planting a sign that shows your school pride!

Support Shamrock Gardens Elementary with a yard sign and let your neighborhood know you’re proud to be part of our amazing community. Signs and magnets are always available to order on the PTA website. Get yours today!

Rent the Rock

You can also Rent the Rock any week of the year for just $20, which raises money for SGE and shows off our community's creativity and spirit.

Harris Teeter VIC

Link your VIC card to SGE (code 3961), and a portion of your Harris Teeter purchases will be donated back to Shamrock! This must be done each year. Log in to HT's Together in Education, and cross this off your list.

Shout-Out to Our Sponsors!

These amazing sponsors are part of our school team—go show them some love!
