Back to School, Dragon Style! We were thrilled to welcome our scholars back to SGE! From launching our first-ever Safety Patrol and kicking off Lucky’s Bike Bus on Wednesdays and Fridays to fueling up our amazing teachers for the new school year, it’s been a great start!

We may still be reaching for the shorts and sunscreen, but fall is right around the corner! There’s lots happening at Shamrock Gardens, with INVE$T Month, the Fall Carnival, and plenty of ways for our Dragons and families to connect, celebrate, and get involved.

So much of what makes SGE special is made possible by YOU. Keep reading to see what’s coming up and how you can be part of the fun!

Bring your A-game, Dragons! Our SGE Fall Carnival is coming up Friday, October 9 from 5:00–7:30 PM, and this year we’re turning the fun up to an All-Star Night!

Get ready for an evening packed with inflatables, games, food trucks, and plenty of SGE fun. Wristbands are $10 per person, and volunteers receive a free wristband!

Food trucks will include Wolfman Pizza, King of Fire Pizza, Tana Empanada, Kona Ice, and Sprinkle Joy, with order-ahead options available from select trucks.

Please note: This is not a drop-off event. All students must have adult supervision.

🙋 WE STILL NEED ALL-STARS!
Many volunteers are still needed to make the carnival happen. If you're planning to attend, please consider giving 45 minutes of your time to help make the evening a success. Without enough volunteers, we may not be able to offer all of the activities.

Join us for our first General PTA Meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 17, from 6:00–7:00 PM in the SGE Cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to hear what’s planned for SGE, learn more about what the PTA is working on, and have a voice in the year ahead. Childcare, pizza, and food from The Improper Pig will all be provided!

We have lots to discuss and several important items to vote on, so we’d love to see you there! We’ll share updates on upcoming events, fundraising, programs, and ways you can get involved in making this a great year for our scholars, teachers, and staff.

INVE$T in Your School is our year-long PTA fundraising effort, with October as our big month to celebrate what we can accomplish together!

This year, our family goal is $25,000 with 100% family participation. Your support helps fund classroom resources, enrichment programs, teacher support, and inclusive school events.

Every gift makes a difference! Whether you give $10, sponsor another scholar, or share the campaign with family and friends, every contribution helps. Be sure to check if your employer offers corporate matching, too!

Think you know Penny Wars? It’s back with a new name! Battle of the Bucks brings the friendly competition and strategic sabotage, with a twist: bucks add to your House total, while coins sabotage! Fill the donation jars outside the cafeteria and battle it out for your House!

As we reach our fundraising goals, scholars will unlock mystery prizes and school-wide celebrations!

We love our volunteers! Whether you have five minutes or five hours, your time makes a difference. There are lots of ways to jump in, from helping at events and chaperoning field trips to supporting teachers and staff.

📁 Thursday Folder Volunteers Needed: We’re especially looking for volunteers to help with Kindergarten and 1st Grade Thursday Folders. It’s a simple way to lend a hand during the school day!

👕 SGE SPIRIT WEAR

Seasonal drops are coming! We’ll have 3–4 limited-edition online-only drops throughout the year. Once a drop closes, those items are gone! Our next drop is coming in late September, so keep an eye out.

The SGE Core Collection is available year-round through the PTA website and features our standard logo in a variety of styles. Please allow 1–2 weeks for orders to be sent home. Core Collection and seasonal items may arrive separately, so don’t worry if your full order doesn’t come at once.

📋 UPDATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT PROFILE

Make sure your scholar is linked to their current grade and teacher so you receive the right SGE updates.

Visit shamrockpta.org and click LOGIN in the upper right corner. Click your name and then "Click here if you are trying to update your directory information." Follow the prompts to verify your information. On the Student Information page, select the correct teacher name in the Classroom Teacher dropdown. Click save, and you are done!
