Current volunteer needs

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Lights, Camera, Appreciation! Let’s light up our amazing teachers and staff with kind words, messages of appreciation, and food! There are FOUR great ways for SGE families to get involved:

  1. Volunteer throughout the week (May 6th to 10th)! Help the committee decorate or cover a teacher shift for morning drop-off or lunch. Sign up here!
  2. Send Fan Mail to show your appreciation. Cards will be sent home in Thursday folders on May 2nd and can be dropped off in the school lobby throughout the week. Additional cards will be available in the lobby.
  3. Vote! It's awards season for our incredible staff! Families and scholars can cast their votes here by May 8th.
  4. Write messages and decorate the Walk of Fame at the school on Sunday, May 5th anytime between 3:00-5:00pm. Please bring sidewalk chalk, but if you forget, we will have some waiting for you!

4TH GRADE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROJECT
Next Friday, May 3rd, is the last day to bring in books for Promising Pages as part of fourth grade's Community Partnership Project. Any new, like new, and gently used children’s books are appreciated!

RISING K BEGINNER'S NIGHT / DAY
On Thursday, May 9th, 5:00-6:30pm, and Friday, May 10th, 9:30-11:00am, rising kindergarten families are invited to Shamrock Gardens to learn more about our amazing school!

Volunteers are needed to help escort new scholars to/from activity rooms and help with group activities. In addition, we need some help putting together a balloon arch on May 8th at 1:00pm. This is a special time for children who will become SGE scholars next year, so we appreciate current parents being part of it. Sign up to help here!

FIELD DAY
Are you ready for the day of all elementary school days? Field Day will be on Tuesday, June 4th. (Rain date is June 6th.) Activities for grades K-2 will be in the morning, and grades 3-5 will follow shortly after. 20+ volunteers will be needed for both time slots. Watch ParentSquare for a forthcoming volunteer signup!

CARPOOL HELPERS
The staff appreciate extra hands during carpool as they juggle their morning to-dos. Registered CMS volunteers can help with morning carpool in one of two ways:

  1. Lucky's Pals Carpool: Simply show up Tuesday mornings 7:30-8:00am, or
  2. Lucky Dads: Sign up with Lucky Dads, who help out one Friday of each month. (They also provide lunch support!)

LUCKY'S LIBRARY
At least one parent/guardian is needed to monitor Lucky's Library before school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It's the perfect volunteer opportunity to knock out before a busy day! Sign up here.

PTA leadership opportunities for 2024-25

The PTA is still looking for dedicated people who are interested in joining the board and its committees for the 2024-25 school year. Please fill out this form (which lists available positions and estimated time commitments) if you are interested in joining the PTA Board or in leading a committee. Please consider giving your time and joining us! It takes a village of volunteer support to run all of the PTA events and activities that our Shamrock community loves and thrives on.

School supplies for 2024-25

SGE offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the upcoming school year. EduKits include the supplies approved by our school. Your student's order will be in their classroom on the first day of school; no hassle! Visit edukitinc.com/schools/1607 and order by June 30th for best pricing and free shipping. Families can also use the EduKit lists as reference to purchase supplies on their own.
